Imogen Jennifer Jane Heap ( IM-ə-jən HEEP; born 9 December 1977) is an English musician, singer, songwriter and record producer. She is considered a pioneer in pop music, particularly electropop, and in music technology.

Heap classically trained in piano, cello, and clarinet starting at a young age. She began writing songs at the age of 13 and taught herself music production while attending boarding school. After being discovered by manager Mickey Modern while attending the BRIT School, Heap signed to independent record label Almo Sounds at the age of 18 and later began working with experimental pop band Acacia. She released her debut album, the alternative rock record I Megaphone, in 1998. Due to minimal marketing of the album, it sold poorly, and Heap was soon left without a record deal. In early 2002, she and English record producer Guy Sigsworth formed the electronic duo Frou Frou and released their only album to date, Details (2002), through Island Records. It was commercially unsuccessful and the duo soon disbanded, though their song "Let Go" earned them wider recognition after being used in the Grammy Award-winning soundtrack for Zach Braff's 2004 film Garden State.

Heap remortgaged her flat to fund the making of her second studio album, Speak for Yourself (2005), which she produced, recorded, sang, arranged, mixed, and designed the cover art for on her own, also self-releasing it through her independent record label, Megaphonic Records. It was described as her breakout album and its single "Hide and Seek" garnered success internationally and on iTunes after being prominently featured in the Fox television series The O.C.; it was later certified gold in the United States and Canada. The album's second single, "Goodnight and Go", was her first to appear on the UK Singles Chart, while its third single, "Headlock", went viral on TikTok in 2024 and, in 2025, became her first song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Heap's third studio album, Ellipse (2009), peaked in the top-five of the Billboard 200 chart and in the top-40 of the UK Albums Chart, produced the single "First Train Home", and made Heap the first woman to win the Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. This was followed by her fourth studio album, Sparks (2014). In 2017, she reunited with Sigsworth as part of Frou Frou.

Heap is known for her contributions to film and television soundtracks, her independent success online, and her devoted fanbase. She developed the Mi.Mu Gloves, a line of wired musical gloves, as well as a blockchain-based music-sharing program, Mycelia. She composed the music for the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a sequel to the Harry Potter novels, which premiered on the West End in 2016 and for which she won a Drama Desk Award. She has also been awarded the Grammy Award for Album of the Year for her work on Taylor Swift's 2014 album 1989, an Ivor Novello Award, and an honorary doctorate from Berklee College of Music.
